Building Homes. Building Hope. Right Here at Home.

Lancaster/Northumberland Habitat for Humanity is a local, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening our community—one home at a time. Every donation is tax-deductible, and 100% of your gift stays right here in Lancaster and Northumberland Counties, helping local families build brighter futures.

In the past two years, the cost of constructing a Habitat home has risen significantly. Yet our mission remains the same: everyone deserves a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. Habitat partner families are selected based on demonstrated need and a commitment to the program. They work alongside volunteers and construction professionals, contributing “sweat equity” as they help build their own homes—investing not only labor, but hope, determination, and pride in their future.

Our homes are made possible largely through the hands and hearts of volunteers, guided by experienced construction team managers. Together, we create more than houses—we create stability, opportunity, and generational impact.

Beyond grant funding, L/NHH relies on the generosity of our community. You can support our mission through:

  • Cash Donations – Flexible and impactful. We accept cash (at the ReStore), checks, recurring gifts via PayPal or Venmo, and credit card contributions online.
  • ReStore Donations – Donate new or gently used materials and household items to support our work.
  • Cars for Homes – Turn your vehicle into hope for a family.
  • Estate & Legacy Gifts – Leave a lasting impact for generations to come.

From a Recent Donor – “The three gentlemen who arrived to retrieve our couch yesterday morning were absolutely wonderful. We greatly appreciated their courteous, kind, and considerate assistance.  While here, I also asked if they’d be interested in three other pieces of furniture, all solid wood: an antique rocking chair, a pine side table, and a vintage coffee table. They decided those would be helpful to y’all’s mission, too, so you may find you have more donations than you expected! LOL!”
