Our Partners

Our partners are more than supporters of Lancaster/Northumberland Habitat for Humanity – they are the foundation that makes our work possible.

Every home we build tells a story of collaboration. Behind the walls, beneath the rooflines, and within every carefully finished detail is the expertise of professionals who step forward with the skills our volunteers simply don’t have. They bring specialized knowledge, refined work processes, and the certifications required to ensure every home meets regulatory standards. They provide quality construction materials, essential residential equipment, and the steady guidance that keeps each project moving forward safely and efficiently.

These relationships weren’t formed overnight. They have been built over years of shared commitment, trust, and hard work. We take immense pride in the partnerships that stand beside us—partners who believe, as we do, that everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home.

Simply put, we cannot do this work alone. Because of our partners, families in Lancaster and Northumberland don’t just receive houses—they gain the stability and opportunity that turn houses into homes.

In addition to the partners already recognized, Lancaster/Northumberland Habitat for Humanity is deeply grateful for the meaningful relationships we have built with local faith communities and nonprofit organizations across our region. These partnerships reflect a shared calling: to serve our neighbors with compassion, dignity, and practical support. Together, we are able to extend our impact beyond construction—connecting families to vital resources, strengthening stability, and helping individuals move toward greater independence.

We are especially thankful for the support and collaboration of:

We work closely with these community-based nonprofits that expand the circle of assistance:

  • The Link – A collaborative network of churches and helping agencies that serves as a centralized information and referral resource. The Link connects residents with essential services and support systems, empowering individuals and families to achieve greater independence and stability.
  • Interfaith Service Council – Serving families in our counties since 1982, the Interfaith Service Council provides minor home repairs, builds wheelchair ramps, offers household furnishings, and assists with urgent financial needs such as rent, utilities, food, and other emergencies.
  • Volunteer River Counties – Launched in September 2025, Volunteer River Counties is an online hub that connects people throughout the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula with meaningful volunteer opportunities while helping local organizations expand their reach and recruit volunteers of all ages.

Lancaster/Northumberland Habitat for Humanity has been an active member since the hub’s launch and has already welcomed many new volunteers who discovered Habitat through the platform. We are proud to be part of this regional effort to connect people who want to make a difference with organizations working to strengthen our communities.

We also work closely with these congregations that not only support our mission but actively help us respond to the broader needs of families in Lancaster and Northumberland Counties:

    • Grace Episcopal Church
    • Kilmarnock United Methodist Church
    • Fairfields Methodist Church
    • Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church
    • Church of Deliverance

Through these valued partnerships, we are reminded that building stronger communities requires more than constructing homes—it requires connection, collaboration, and a shared commitment to caring for one another. Together, we are creating not just houses, but hope and opportunity throughout our community.
